Ginseng Roots 6 Printed and New Bonus Sticker

The latest issue of Craig Thompson’s acclaimed Ginseng Roots comic book just arrived from the printer! It’s another beautiful print job by Wisconsin based Johnson Litho.

In this issue, the stratification, planting, and growth cycles of the ginseng seed parallel the seasons of childhood. Ginseng berries are gathered in the last week of summer, just before school resumes and brings with it the awkward transitions of adolescence, sexuality, and friendship… or a parental decision to homeschool. Before planting, ginseng seeds are doused in bleach and fungicide—a purifying ritual of sorts—like baptism—which Craig and his siblings undergo to be cleansed of sin.

Here are a few interior pages to give you a peek inside:

Additionally, for subscribers and pre-order customers, the issue will come with an exclusive sticker; a cheeky homage to the Powell Peralta Winged Ripper logo!

Wooot!
